Overview

Once your club or harbour administrator has approved your membership application, you will receive an email containing a personal onboarding link. Clicking that link takes you to the MoorMesh setup wizard at /onboard. The wizard walks you through every step required to get your boat under active security monitoring: linking your Telegram account for instant alerts, registering your boat and its mooring position, connecting your Reolink 4G camera, and firing a live test alert to confirm everything is working.

The wizard is designed to be completed in a single sitting and takes approximately five to ten minutes. Every step can be skipped and completed later from your account settings if you need more time.

False Alarm! Understanding the Alert Grace Period and Escalation Flow

Overview

MoorMesh is designed to alert you the moment your camera detects motion — but it is also designed to stay quiet when the detection was a false alarm. The grace period is the window of time between your camera firing and your club or harbour being notified. During this window, you are the only person who receives a notification. If you recognise the alert as a false alarm and cancel it, nothing further happens. If you do not cancel within the grace period, the alert escalates automatically.

Understanding this flow is the most important thing you can do to get the most out of MoorMesh and to avoid unnecessary disturbance to your club.

Choosing the right location for your MoorMesh camera is crucial for reliable security and minimizing false alarms. While the Reolink Go Plus is fully weatherproof and can be mounted anywhere, we strongly recommend mounting your primary camera inside the cabin of your boat.

Here is why an internal cabin mount is the most effective setup for MoorMesh.

The Benefits of an Internal Mount

Mounting the camera inside the cabin provides several distinct advantages over an external deck or mast mount:

Fewer False Alarms: The biggest challenge with boat security is the constant movement of the environment. Cameras mounted on deck are frequently triggered by passing boats, waves, birds, or loose rigging moving in the wind. Inside the cabin, the environment is static. If the camera detects a person inside your locked cabin, it is almost certainly a genuine intrusion.
Protection from the Elements: While the camera is weatherproof, keeping it inside protects the lens from salt spray, rain, and condensation, ensuring you always have a clear view when an alert is triggered.
Maximum Siren Deterrent: The Reolink camera features a built-in siren that sounds when an intruder is detected. In the confined space of a boat cabin, this siren is piercingly loud and highly disorienting. If the camera is mounted externally up a mast or on a rail, the sound dissipates quickly in the open air and is far less effective as a deterrent.

A 4G camera, a compatible SIM card, and the Reolink App installed on your phone (scan the QR code below to download if needed).

Step 1. Insert SIM Card and Power on the Camera

1. Choose and insert the SIM Card If you don't use the Reolink SIM card, refer to this link to choose a compatible SIM card: How to Choose SIM Card for Reolink 4G Cameras. (Skip this step if you are using the Reolink SIM card.) After choosing the compatible SIM card, find the SIM slot on the camera and insert the SIM card correctly.

Quick Arm / Disarm Using the Reolink Home Screen

There’s a faster way to arm and disarm your camera without digging through settings.

In the Reolink app:

Open the app
Tap the Home tab
Find your camera in the list
Look for the PIR icon (motion sensor symbol)
Tap it to toggle:
- BLUE "PIR" = Armed
- GREY "PIR" = Disarmed

Much faster than going into settings
Ideal for everyday use when arriving/leaving your boat
Reduces the chance of forgetting to arm/disarm
